You may have read our previous blog about Alpha Pinene and wondered, “But what about Beta Pinene?” Beta Pinene is responsible for the smell in a tremendous amount of plants; in fact, it is the most common and abundant terpene in the plant kingdom! It can be found in ginger, nutmeg, sage basil, dill and parsley. For the chemistry nerds, it’s actually a mirror copy of Alpha Pinene with the same type and number of atoms but combined differently (considered an enantiomer).
We’ve included it in our formulations for many reasons. One of the key benefits is its anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. It’s also been shown to alter neurotransmitters in a way that results in better memory (even when ingested with THC.)
If you’re interested in trying Beta Pinene, it’s present in all of our formulations and products!
